Pair an Edge screen

Edge pairing is part of the development preview. The current Linux Player still uses the stable pairing flow.

A new Edge Player can use the setup screen, discover a nearby server with Avahi/mDNS, or be pointed at a server from the command line.

For a headless setup:

tilecastctl pair https://signage.example.org
tilecastctl status

tilecastctl status can show the pairing code before the Player is enrolled. It does not show the private pairing secret or the Player credential.

Approve the request in Studio using the normal Pair a display flow.

The Player keeps its current pairing request through a daemon restart, so restarting Edge does not create a new request every time. If the request expires or is rejected, start a new one.

Server discovery is optional. If multicast is blocked on the network, enter the server address directly.
