Websites
Website content loads on the Player, not in the administrator’s browser.
A site that works on your computer can still fail on the display because the Player may have different DNS, routing, certificates, filtering, or browser behavior.
Check the address
Section titled “Check the address”Public Website content requires HTTPS.
Private HTTP works only when the server deployment and Settings > Websites both allow it for a private-network destination.
Check that redirects stay on hosts you intended to allow.
Tilecast does not ignore certificate errors or copy browser login cookies, OAuth sessions, or Tilecast credentials into Website content.
Check the Player network
Section titled “Check the Player network”The Player itself must be able to reach the website. Test DNS, routing, filtering, and TLS from the display network.
Website content is not saved as a complete offline copy.
If the website is unavailable, the Website item’s failure settings decide whether Tilecast keeps the last rendered page, shows a fallback image, shows a placeholder, or skips the item.
Clear Website data only when needed
Section titled “Clear Website data only when needed”For a persistent Website storage problem, use the supported screen action to clear Website data. The Player must receive that command before it expires.
Do not clear the Player’s media cache just because one Website is stale. Website storage is separate from downloaded media.
See Add website content for host restrictions, timeout, reload, and fallback settings.
