Noise Meter
Noise Meter is a built-in plugin for supported Linux Players. Install it from Operations > Plugins, then create a meter and choose its target screens.
Set the message, warning level, too-loud level, sensitivity, show and hide delays, size, optional schedule, priority, and targets.
Noise Level is relative
Section titled “Noise Level is relative”Noise Meter reports a Noise Level from 0 to 100 for the microphone connected to that Player.
It is not dB, dBA, SPL, or a calibrated sound measurement. Two different microphones can report different values in the same room.
Sensitivity changes how the relative level reacts; it does not calibrate the microphone.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”The Player measures the microphone locally and sends level information, not a microphone recording, to Tilecast Server.
Website content does not get access to the Noise Meter microphone permission.
History and Edge
Section titled “History and Edge”Use the plugin’s history page to review the recent levels reported for that meter.
Noise Meter works on the current stable Linux Player. Edge support is part of the M9 host-audio work, so check the Edge capability matrix before moving a screen that depends on it.
