Understand a screen's status

Screens > Fleet shows the Player’s current connection status. A connection status says whether Tilecast can reach the Player. It does not prove that content is playing correctly.

Status What it means
Online The Player has an active connection to the server.
Recently online There is no active connection, but the Player contacted the server within the last two minutes.
Stale The last contact was more than two minutes ago and no more than fifteen minutes ago.
Offline The Player has not contacted the server in more than fifteen minutes, or has never contacted it.
Disabled An Owner or Administrator disabled this screen.
Pairing revoked The screen has no active Player credential. Pair the Player again before it can reconnect.
  1. Open Screens > Fleet and select the screen.
  2. Check Last contact, the Player version, and the device details in the screen view.
  3. Confirm the device has power and can reach the server’s current address. If you use a hostname, check that it resolves on the display’s network.
  4. If the Player reports a server identity mismatch, verify the installation before resetting or pairing the device. See Connect a display.
  5. If the screen is disabled or its pairing was revoked, ask an Owner or Administrator to enable it or pair the Player again.

If the Player can connect but content is failing, open Activity and check Incidents. A screen can be reachable while playback is impaired.

Use Live preview on the screen’s Overview tab to request a current image. A preview can be unavailable even while the Player is online.
